The objective of the MUNGILUX project is to improve the lighting of milking parlours in order to: ensure adequate environmental conditions for humans and animals; increase labour productivity, hygienic and sanitary management of cows, milk quality; reduce energy consumption by achieving greater economic and environmental sustainability of the production process.
Highlights of the project include the ability to:
evaluate the applicability of a free professional lighting design software (DIALUX), normally used at residential level, in the zootechnical field and specifically for milking parlours;
develop an uniform methodology for assessing the lighting conditions in existing parlours.
identify alternative and advantageous lighting solutions, from an economic and energy point of view, to correctly illuminate the area where the visual task of the milker takes place.
