The objective of the MUNGILUX project is to improve the lighting of milking parlours in order to: ensure adequate environmental conditions for humans and animals; increase labour productivity, hygienic and sanitary management of cows, milk quality; reduce energy consumption by achieving greater economic and environmental sustainability of the production process.
Highlights of the project include the ability to:
- evaluate the applicability of a free professional lighting design software (DIALUX), normally used at residential level, in the zootechnical field and specifically for milking parlours;
- develop an uniform methodology for assessing the lighting conditions in existing parlours.
- identify alternative and advantageous lighting solutions, from an economic and energy point of view, to correctly illuminate the area where the visual task of the milker takes place.
